A Legacy of Helping Hands

Randy Ridgeway

The Randy Ridgeway Foundation Fund has been established at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation (CRCF) to honor the memory of Randy Ridgeway, a man known for his generosity, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for helping others. Created by his wife, Bonnie Ridgeway, this fund will make grants at the direction of Randy’s family, ensuring that his legacy of giving continues.

Randy was a driven entrepreneur who built a successful business, Engine Room International, earning respect as both a skilled mechanic and engine builder. Retiring at just 38, he pursued another passion—racing—competing in drag, oval dirt, and asphalt races. But beyond his achievements in business and sports, Randy was deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of others. As a longtime supporter and mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, he shared his knowledge, skills, and values with the next generation, encouraging a spirit of curiosity and lifelong learning.

Now, through the Randy Ridgeway Foundation Fund, that same spirit of generosity lives on. Established as a Donor Advised Fund, the fund will reflect Randy’s dynamic approach to helping others by supporting a wide range of community needs. With Bonnie’s guidance, grants from the Fund will be directed where they are most needed, ensuring a meaningful and lasting impact.

"Randy was anything but 'cookie-cutter,' and this fund is no different," Bonnie shared. "We want to be able to support the causes that need it most, just as Randy would have. He made the world a better place, and with this fund, we hope to continue that effort in his absence. Memorializing him in this way—it’s like a warm hug at the end of a long day."

CRCF is honored to help steward this fund, ensuring it carries on Randy’s legacy of giving for years to come. "This fund is a beautiful reflection of who Randy was—someone who saw needs in the community and stepped up to help," said Tory Irgang, executive director of CRCF. "Through Bonnie’s vision and the continued support of family and friends, his impact will endure for generations to come."

Bonnie hopes the fund will grow over time, expanding its reach and strengthening its impact. Those who wish to honor Randy’s memory and contribute to his legacy of giving are invited to make a gift to the Randy Ridgeway Foundation Fund.
